Performance

Our students “strive for excellence” in all they do. I am delighted that they work hard and achieve in their academic studies. We set ambitious targets for all based on the expectation that they will make 4 levels of progress from year 7 to year 11. We are confident that they will meet these targets and we monitor their progress every 6 weeks. Year 7 know that we expect 70% of the cohort to achieve 5+ A*-C grades including English and Mathematics when they sit their GCSE examinations in year 11 and they are working with zest to meet our expectations.

Our year 9 students began GCSE Science a year early. They are very successful and over 50% of the cohort has achieved 3 levels of progress by the end of year 9. It is not surprising that approximately the same number of students have chosen a “triple science” option rather than a double science alternative. Their progress in English and Mathematics is equally strong.

60 year 10 students have become members of the A*Academy. They are expected to achieve a minimum of 3 A* grades when they sit their public examinations. They will be entered for English and Mathematics GCSE examinations early and we expect to celebrate their performance later this year.

We know that a full and rounded education includes a range of experiences and our students participate enthusiastically in the academic curriculum and the extracurricular programme. Our sports men and women have had an outstanding year. Our artists work has brought pleasure to all and our musicians perform regularly.

Please take the time to scan our performance in a range of areas and share our pleasure in the success of our students.
